My Million Dollar Mission
I had actually planned to start this journal in February of 2011, but being the procrastinator I was, I am only getting started. This journal is about my journey to build a $1,000,000.00 (net revenue) per year recurring business from scratch by January 2017. This gives me just under 5 years to accomplish my goal. I am going to use all of the knowledge I have gained over my 40+ years on this planet, in various areas of study and business. I will especially be using all of the knowledge I am still gaining when it comes to making money using the internet (specifically Internet Marketing) to achieve my goal.
Why $1,000,000.00
Why $1,000,000.00? I like the sound of it, and it’s a real number. If you have ever done a lot of goal development, the one thing that everyone says, is that your goals have to be specific and measurable. $1,000,000.00 is very specific, and very measurable. It is also realistic. If I apply all of the knowledge that I have and take the action I should, this is definitely attainable.
What if your get to your goal before 5 years?
This is every Entrepreneur’s dream. Be realistic and aggressive, but prepare for outrageous success. If I hit my objective before the end of my 5 year time table, I will definitely modify my goals to push myself even further.
Getting to $1,000,000.00 per Year
The objective is to have $1,000,000.00 in yearly recurring revenue within 5 years. Depending on who you talk to, building a $1,000,000.00 per year business is the hardest thing in the world, or the easiest thing in the world. My goal is to have the business essentially run itself by the end of the 5 years, blessed with the knowledge that it will generate $1,000,000.00 again in 2018, 2019, and beyond.
DISCLAIMER
I have owned a web design, web marketing, and media company for the last 7 years, so I am somewhat well versed in modern web technology. I am the President of the company, and the lead sales resource for our firm, so I have always focused more on the business & sales side rather than delving into actual technology practice. I will be leveraging existing resources, but accounting for the costs of those resources with each project so that it does not skew the net numbers I am trying to achieve.
